What is the best fabric for hot yoga?
Hot yoga classes typically reach 95–105°F with high humidity, so your fabric needs to handle extreme sweat while staying comfortable and non-restrictive. Bamboo lyocell is an outstanding choice for hot yoga because it feels cool to the touch, wicks moisture rapidly, and drapes smoothly against the body without clinging uncomfortably when wet.
Lightweight merino wool (130–150 g/m²) is another strong option — its thermoregulating properties work in both cold and hot environments, keeping you from overheating even in a heated studio. Avoid heavy cotton for hot yoga as it will absorb too much sweat and become weighty, but a lightweight organic cotton-elastane blend can still work for practitioners who prefer the feel of cotton.
ONDU carries hot-yoga-friendly options from brands like Wolven and Organic Basics that are designed to perform in high-heat, high-sweat environments using natural and responsibly sourced fibers.
