The Story
PAKA founder Kris Cody traveled to the Peruvian Andes and discovered that local alpaca herders were struggling while sitting on one of nature's most remarkable fibers. He created PAKA to connect these indigenous farming communities with global consumers who want plastic-free performance wear. Every PAKA garment uses Royal Alpaca fiber from family farms in the Andes — softer than cashmere, warmer than wool, and completely biodegradable. The brand directly supports over 200 herding families.
Materials Philosophy
Alpaca fiber is one of nature's most sustainable luxury fibers. Alpacas have soft padded feet that don't damage soil, they graze without pulling up roots, and they drink less water than goats or sheep. PAKA uses Royal Alpaca grade — the finest and softest classification. The fiber is naturally hypoallergenic, odor-resistant, thermoregulating, and stronger than merino wool, with zero chemicals needed in processing.
